Jacqui's Originals

Jewelry

Each piece of my jewelry is created with polymer clay, as well as other mediums including sterling, brass, copper, pewter, shells, and feathers. I start with solid colored blocks of clay and through a process of rolling, slicing and adding more colors, I create intricate patterned clay rolls. I then place slices of these rolls on another piece of clay and hand cut each design. Finally, each piece is baked, signed and dated.

I have lived in Alaska for most of my life, so many of my pieces have Alaskan themes such as Alaskan wildlife and Alaskan birds, as well as jewelry reflecting the Alaskan Native culture as in my Fan Dancer and Ice Fisher. My most extensive collection is my dog breed pins, but I have not forgotten cat lovers with my wonderful cat jewelry.

Whether you are interested in a hummingbird pin or an angel pin, a polar bear pin or a Santa pin, you will find something wonderful and affordable to purchase on this site, for yourself or as a gift for someone else.

Hand painted Giclees

The word giclee (pronounced “zhee-clay”) is derived from a French word meaning “a spraying of pigments,” and refers to the way the watercolor was reproduced. I start with photographs and digitally paint a watercolor. After hours of work refining the original watercolor, I print each image in limited editions of between 25-100. Each print (giclee) is then hand painted to enhance the colors, thereby making it an original work of art.

As with my jewelry, many of the watercolors reflect my Alaskan background. As you peruse the collection, you will find giclees of Mt. McKinley, Seward, Homer Boat Yard and Homer Shops, as well as watercolors of Polar bears, puffins and eagles. I have not limited my images to Alaska though, and you will also find hand painted prints of herons, egrets, teddy bears and flowers.
